The primary reason is that it involves every aspect of computer science and electrical engineering technology. DevOps engineering requires that one must be able to understand scores of programming languages, scores of machine processing languages. hundreds of different types of processor architectures and the firmware, operating system, BIOS and compiler architectures that come along with them. That is not to mention the network, IoT, photonic, cloud, data center, edge, bus and cybersecurity protocols that must be fully understood. Then there is the geopolitical concerns. The high-level system level affects on the power grid and climate change and finally, compliance with international government regulations.
